Vacation time is here, which means selfie galore. I’m talking about the selfies of you on the flight and landing, but if you are anything like me, those flights wreak havoc on your skin, which means not so pretty selfies. Let’s face it; we can’t all look like celebrities who disembark a plane looking flawless…or can we?
After years of flying between Virginia and other countries, I have picked up on a few secrets to look like Lucy Hale walking through the airport. It is always nice to land in the morning before your hotel allows you to check-in and be able to look stunning while sipping a coffee and people watching at a nearby cafe. No shower needed.
Jet lag: circadian rhythm disorder or time zone change syndrome.
Steps to beating the looks of jet lag:
- Before the flight:
- Oxygenate your skin! Book an appointment at Bellezza Spa to get an Intraceutical Oxygen Facial with Infusion. Celebrities worldwide rely on oxygen facials to combat signs of aging. This unique treatment uses hyperbaric oxygen to infuse a combination of antioxidants and hyaluronic acids into the skin. The treatment will leave your skin looking healthier and younger than ever before!
- Mink Eyelash Extensions will really brighten up those peepers. Long and thick lashes always make eyes pop. This in turn will ensure you don’t look so tired when you land.
- Go naked- Take all of your makeup off. I know it is hard for those of us who love to wear powders, eyeliners, and blush, but do it anyways. The air on the plane is extremely dry and will suck all of the moisture out of your skin. Leaving makeup on during the flight will most likely leave you looking like a flaky pastry.
- Cleanse your skin.
- Moisturize with some heavy-duty lotion!
- Hydrate.
- Pack travel size bottles of your essentials for your face.
- During the flight:
- Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more.
Avoid alcohol and stick to water. - Pull your hair up. If you are like me, your hair gets tangled and becomes flat instantly. Pulling your hair up into a loose bun will add some extra volume and waves for when you land.
- Moisturize your lips.
- Prop your feet up. Even if you are in economy, try putting a bag under the seat in front of you and place your feet on top of it.
Do get up to walk around and do ankle exercises. - Check the time zone change and switch your routine to it. Eat when they eat and sleep when they sleep.
- Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more.
- After you land:
- Head to the nearest bathroom and wash your face.
- Moisturize
- Apply your makeup.
- Ultra Calming Facial: this treatment will provide serious relief for jetlagged skin. It targets the triggers that cause redness, itching and stinging, which will leave your skin looking flawless.
- When in doubt, rock some seriously huge and dark shades like these lovely ladies! Seriously, Kendall Jenner looks flawless walking through the airport for fashion week.
